Soutien à Palestine Action

Le Mouvement pour une Alternative Non-Violente (MAN) s’oppose sans réserve à la caractérisation de Palestine Action comme organisation terroriste et à son interdiction en vertu de la loi britannique de 2000 sur le terrorisme. Une telle qualification bafoue la notion de terrorisme, Palestine Action n’ayant jamais terrorisé, menacé ou attaqué des civils de quelque manière que ce soit.

Le MAN exprime son soutien aux membres de Palestine Action, ainsi qu’à tous les individus et groupes qui expriment leur soutien à Palestine Action et qui s’exposent à des poursuites judiciaires. Cela inclut les plus de 1 600 citoyens arrêtés pour des manifestations non violentes de soutien à Palestine Action cet été.

Le MAN est préoccupé par les graves restrictions à la liberté d’expression qui pourraient potentiellement résulter, et dans une large mesure résultent déjà, de la qualification de groupes comme Palestine Action comme organisation terroriste.
Nous notons des parallèles entre l’interdiction de Palestine Action et celle du collectif Urgence Palestine en France. Nous affirmons la solidarité de tous les groupes qui luttent pour la liberté d’expression, et de tous les groupes qui s’opposent également aux actions génocidaires du gouvernement israélien.

The Mouvement pour une Alternative Non-Violente (MAN) unreservedly opposes the characterization of the former group Palestine Action as a Terrorist Organization, and its consequent outlawing under the UK’s Terrorism Act of 2000. Such a characterization makes a mockery of the concept of Terrorism, since Palestine Action has neither terrorised, threatened, nor attacked civilians in any way.

The MAN offers its full support to members of the former group, and to all individuals and groups expressing their support for Palestine Action, and facing legal consequences as a result. This includes the more than 1,600 citizens who have been arrested for non-violent demonstrations of support for Palestine Action over the summer.

The MAN is preoccupied by the severe restrictions on freedom of speech which could potentially, and to a large extent actually, result from the characterization of groups such as Palestine Action as a terrorist organization. We see parallels between the prohibition of Palestine Action and the banning of the collective group Urgence Palestine in France. We affirm the solidarity of all groups fighting for freedom of expression, and of all groups also opposing the genocidal actions of the Israeli government
